If I have received a text message to say I have been awarded (new claim) and have called the payment line the same day how accurate is the amount of the next payment? I ask this as looks like I have been awarded high mobility (£308.20) but nothing for daily living which doesn’t make sense to me? The report from the assessor suggests high rate on both daily living and mobility any help would be appreciated 😊

Hi JacketP

We have no idea, you need to wait until you get your decision letter to get an answer, if you have been in contact with the DWP and requested a PA4 you will get an indication as to the likely outcome but the Decision maker does not always follow the assessors report.

You can apply for a MR if you believe the decision is incorrect, if you have been awarded enhanced mobility and nothing for the Daily Living component, you can inform that you agree with the mobility component but disagree with the Daily Living component and explain why and include any supporting documents.

Thank you Gary and apologies for re asking the question I couldn't see your original response.
I now have the decision letter which is a complete contradiction of the assessors report.
If I ask for a mandatory reconsideration do I risk loosing the mobility award?
And in your experience how often are MR's successful when the decision maker has completely disregarded the assessors report?
Thank you for your help.

Hi JacketP

Posts cannot be seen until a mod has seen the post and released it, we check that there are no personal names, profanity or libelous comments.

Yes, you do risk your whole award being looked at. MR decisions are often successful when you can provide supporting evidence to support your claim. MR's usually fail when you cannot prove the point you are trying to make in pulling the HCP opinion apart.

I have since spoken to a decision maker at PIP who has explained that the medical evidence from the doctor does state I suffer with depression but does not list the medication i take which is why Maximus reduced their scoring as a "sub report" which in turn led to PIP scoring only 6 points on daily living. The advisor said I should do a MR and ask the doctor for a list of my medications on letter headed paper and send this in, He started the MR for me there and then and agreed what the decision maker has said contradicts the assessors report with one of the main points stating I still work in an office when I clearly said I have had to leave my job during my assessment which was recorded by me and Maximus. I am nervous I risk losing the high rate mobility. What are your thoughts please?

Hi JacketP

I always advise claimants to send in a copy of their repeat prescription which contains useful information such as when the item was last issued and when the next issue is due.

In your MR you need to say that you are not disputing the mobility component but you dispute the daily living component ... and then list what you are disputing and why, the why part is the important part especially if you can connect it with any supporting documents.
