Urgent advice on PIP award needed was created by Later Alligator
Please help with advice as I have a PIP telephone interview on Monday.
Problem is I had a light touch interview a month ago via telephone call and received a letter advising me that they had decided I will receive lower mobility and higher care, so the same as before. Then I had a phone call telling me I needed an interview again. I asked why and they said they had no note of me having an interview and a decision being made.
Now I'm really worried as I know they won't be trying to increase my award. I've had cancer and other surgeries since my last award so my health has worsened.
Please can I have advice on what to do? Why won't they stand by the letter they sent me?
I've tried to contact Citizens Advice for help but can't get through.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Later Alligator
I'm sorry that you find yourself in this position. I've not heard of this happening before. I don't understand why they are saying that they have no proof of you having an assessment if you have a decision letter.
I would ring the DWP and see if you can talk to a case manager.
Your other option is to cancel the appointment and say that you need a new date. That would give you more time to get it sorted out. This is difficult because you only have a couple of hours to get through.
Sorry, can't think of anything more you can do at such short notice.
