ESA Migration - can he NOT accept New Style ESA as he accepts UNIVERSAL CREDIT was created by teresasue
Can he NOT accept to have New Style ESA as well as UNIVERSAL CREDIT please. It would be easier for me as as his appointee to just have the one UC account.
He was in the Support group of ESA - if we don't accept ESA will he still be put in the LCWRA group for UC i am worried it would cause complications
He is due to have a telephone call about Accepting Committment for New Style ESA

Hi teresasue
Yes you can ask for them to close the NS ESA claim and tell them that you only want to receive UC.

You get different National insurance credits with NS ESA being class 1 and UC being class 3. Class 3 is state pension only. Plus NS ESA is paid 2 weekly and UC monthly. So there are advantages to having both.

Thanks David ESA said they couldn't help and didn't know if he would automatically be put in the LCWRA group for UC if we cancel the esa claim? Is that right no one seems to know? It would be easier if we can just do UC
They don't seem sure Support group or LCWRA will migrate over but you are sure it will migrate over even if i cancel esa claim please

Hi David i rang esa helpline and they don't know if the support group LCWRA will automatically migrate over? But you this this would migrate over even if we cancel the New Style ESA claim please just scared of him having to go through assessments again with UC instead

Hi teresasue
It will be automatic. There may be a delay owing to DWP staff shortages.
