My parents are tenants in common and have made a will. When the first parent dies, their 50% share will be left to me and 2 siblings. The remaining parent will live in the property until they too pass. The remaining parent will not pay any rent and are obliged to pay for upkeep on the whole property.
Will I lose universal credit when the first parent dies?
I think the amount of a 3rd share in half the property is approximately £30,000 or will it be disregarded until the remaining parent dies and the property can then be sold?
I'm sorry, but your question is outside the remit of this forum and you need to talk to a specialist welfare advisor. I have included a link below to see what services are in your area.
