Migration from esa to uc rent? was created by astrid
Hi,
Does anyone understand how when you are on esa support and get disabled premium and migrate onto UC how my rent has gone up and today when I looked the rent increase has been taken from my expenses to pay landlord. Never have I been penalised and had my money reduced 1st time! Rang dwp and told my transitional protection has lowered to pay for rent increase? So livewest puts rent up every year! I didn't know it would happen is it right?

Hi astrid
It may well be right as the DWP intended that a rent increase would lower Transitional Protection but you need to provide some figures.

Hiya, thank you I am not sure if you mean I have to supply figures to whom? They have taken £60 this month i know it may seem small but next year it will happen again. I didn't know it was allowed. Thank you David

Hi David,
I thought I had replied but I know not where my message went. £60 taken off my amount I usually get this month. Is that what you asking? Just shocked me as they didn't inform me this was going to happen. Every year rent goes up so next April I will get reduced amount until my premiums are gone. Thank you David

Hi astrid
I think I understand now...it is that your rent went up by £60 per month and all of this was taken off your Transitional Element ?
