Hi guys I receive UC and get LCWRA , I also get Pip I get daily living and daily mobility (lower rate)
My wife who got ill later gets she also gets LCWRA And Pip we get it as one payment on UC not the pip part I have been advised that I should claim carers as my wife looks after me and it’s an extra amount per month I would like to ask has anyone done this we have never been advised we could do this I’m afraid to look for it in case it upsets what we get at present Be grateful if you could advise My pip was taken off me over a year ago but recently won at tribunal
You cannot claim Carer's Allowance if you are not caring for anyone. Your wife can if she is caring for you for 35 hours or more per week. She cannot get the Carer's Element added to the UC claim as she already receives the LCWRA element.
