Claiming PIP Mistakes Made At Welfare Appointment was created by Meconopsis
I am claiming PIP for my health conditions and I have also been bereaved recently so when I was offered help from my housing association’s welfare department to fill in the claim form I said yes. I had the appointment yesterday but there are mistakes – what’s been written is not what I said and there are spelling mistakes. It’s unusable the way it is so this has added even more worry. Is it possible to get another claim form as I would rather they didn’t see the contradictory things the other person has written and I can’t erase/cover them. Thanks.

Hi Meconopsis
I would phone PIP and explain the situation and request another form.
Depending on post code some people can claim PIP online:-

An alternative is feasible, stick white labels over the errors, but not over the codes that show it is your personal form, photocopy the pages and use those to fill it in. I have done similar things before and not had any trouble. Just be sure to punch all loose sheets and put a treasury tag, or string or wool tied in a bow so easy to undo, through the hole.
