What to include on Income Support form was created by penthesili
Hi All
While I realise that Income Support is not in the remit of these boards, I would just like to ask any other members if they've mentioned that they get direct payments from their council to pay for care when re-applying for Income Support?
It isn't a benefit as such, and can't be classed as income, as it's only to be used for paying for care that the council used to provide and is now being provided by a private care company; so I'm wondering if I should include it in 'any other information'?

I think it would make sense to mention it, explaining clearly what it is, so that if they check your accounts, they know to expect to find an account with that money in it that isn't part of your capital for benefits purposes.

Thanks, Survivor.
I was thinking along those lines, but wanted to check it out with someone more knowledgeable about the subject.
Cheers, Pen.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

My wife receives these payments.
When I applied for ESA, we made it clear that we were receiving it to the DWP, who understood what they were without explanation. There were no deductions as a result of it.
Better safe than sorry.
