DLA look again care component was created by purplelady
Had my dla care component changed from lower to higher due to change in circumstances thank you for all the advice.
I do have 1 question I did not fill in the motability questionare just wrote no change.I had an indefinate award on both before I asked them to look again.
Now they have given me 2 years, how can they change the motability from indefinate to 2 years I have received it since 2000 as I havent asked them to look at this can not understand it

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Unfortunately there has never really been an indefinite award, and the DWP no longer use the phrase.
Whilst it is usually possible for a claimant to get the care or mobility component re-assessed individually, as you did, the DWP will always re-assess the whole claim. So all that they have done is re-synchronised your care and mobility components so that this can happen.
Hope this explains it.

I'm afraid everybody receiving benefits is going to have to get used to being re-assessed more often

Unfortunately for claimants, the DWP and/or Atos seemed to have reached the inexplicable and illogical conclusion that by undertaking multiple continuous reassessments, their medical condition is bound to (miraculously) improve?
Or am I being cynical in thinking that this is all part of a cost-cutting exercise?

It doesn't cut costs, does it? Think of the costs to the NHS of doctors and specialists spending time over and over writing out explanations of their client's conditions so they can get their benefits instead of concentrating on what they're supposed to do, making them as well as they reasonably can. Where's the savings?
