thanks gordon im asking about what will happen when im moved over to esa from ib.as yet i have recieved no letter,i thought everyone was was getting a letter explining what was happening.its the phone point that im concerned about,as i dont answer the phone unless i know whos calling

OK ignore what I was saying earlier as this really related to Louis's post.
When you are being transferred you will receive a letter notifying you and giving details fo what the process will be.
This is followed a "courtesy" call to find out if you have any questions. If you don't receive it or do not answer the phone its not a problem.
Lots of our members don't answer the phone when they don't recognise the caller, the DWP can't penalise you for this.

Thanks gordon.what is this letter stating you have 7 days to call back by to id yourself.is this a new letter then as i have had no info on the transfer to ib to esa and i thought they had sent letters out to everyone regarding the transfer

Louis is the the first person to have received this letter that I am aware of and it may well be because he does not have a telephone, you don't need to worry about this as it is not the standard letter that is sent out as part of the IB/ESA transfer.

thanks gordon for you advice.so im right in saying unless they have writen to you first asking for you to contact them,they just cant stop your benefit.my concern was they would say they tryed to ring but got no answer so your benefit has stopped.

AS you say, this issue is not contacting the DWP after having been requested to do so, not avoiding answering the phone, which I do myself, whenever possible
