My D.L.A. Appeal took 15 months in all from the day I was refused to the day of the Tribunal and it isnt going to get any better as more people fail medicals and appeal.

Appeals seem to take forever.....
My partner has just got his 3rd appeal date (Last two cancelled by them) Appeal is 28th June, will be a 20 month wait at that date.

I thought I remembered recently reading someone who waited 10 months from August to May so I Googled
site:benefitsandwork.co.uk August May "10 months"

Hyperlink to 'Won my Tribunal Appeal' thread

I have had 10 months of stress & worry over this appeal, but thank goodness it is ... I too have been waiting since last august to face an appeal tribunal against my allocated low care component and I finally have my date i.e. 24th May. ...

Why is it that these two people (denni and annie) waited 10 months but you two have waited longer - 15 and 20 months?

The length of wait for a tribunal can depend on a large number of factors, such as:

Workload of any particular tribunal centre.

Whether the appellant was willing to accept a tribunal date at relatively short notice if for example there is a cancellation (which you can opt for on the tibunal paperwork).

How many panel members of the right type a tribunal centre has and their own availability.

Whether any tribunal is opened and during the proceedings is adjourned for certain reasons for example pending obtaining a new EMP report - this has a knock on effect on other tribunals in the waiting list as in effect two tribunal slots would be used (for the initial adjourned appeal and for the second hearing after the medical report is received).

The abouve list is not exhaustive.

So there can be many and differing waiting lengths between tribunal centres but how long the wait is at any particular centre is anyones guess, but generally the more people who go to appeal, obviously the waiting time will get longer.

Did you (or anyone else) have to ring up to say that you need more time for further evidence?

and have they asked on the phone why?

This message from over 7 months ago says the North West area is (was) 20 weeks

20 / 4 = 5 months

How is the North West area doing now?
