ESA50 was late, the appointment missed was with the CAB for help with completion, both in terms of 'writing' and understanding. The DWP said my partner should have been able to complete it.

Thanks for clarifying that, the rules for a missed medical are very different and I was concerned we had provided the wrong advice.

Regarding housing benefit you may be able to get a discretionary housing payment. Local authority can pay if 1.You are entitled to housing benefit and 2.you appear to require some financial assistance in addition to your HB or CTB to meet your housing costs.
