Hello,
I have with the help of this site requested my sons DLA care component be looked at again due to worsening mental and physical health since end of last year. His care compenent has been lifted from lower to higher rate but his motability, although still remaining at the highest level has only been awarded for 12months, like wise, his care is only for 12 months to. On previous awards his motability has allways been at least 3 years and infact was 5 years last time at the highest rate with his care also been awarded for the same period of time. Do we have grounds to request an appeal with regards to length of time the award is for?, as his physical health is not going to improve regards his ability to walk etc

Yes, you can appeal the fixed period length of the DLA award, but please refer to this FAQ.

I really think you ought to sit back and take expert advice not only on this site but on a one to one at CAB or a WBO.
Read the guidelines on this site and do not act in haste.
