Why do the forums close at the weekend?

I hope you don't mind me asking, but why do the forums close at the weekend? Is it for the mods to have a rest?
I really miss the lifeline that the forum provides, as I don't go out much,
and it helps with the anxiety about losing benefits.
Also, has anyone who has been transferred from IB to ESA Wrag been asked to attend a work-focused interview?
Are the DWP calling people who have been
migrated recently to these interviews, or are they too busy with all the other migrations?
Thank you

Hi Nada,
Yes the forums are closed at the weekend to give the Mods a well earned rest.
A lot of the Mods have health conditions themselves, and have to fit the Moderation around their limitations.
As you may be aware they also do this on an entirely voluntary basis.
So it's better to provide a good facility 5 days a week, than try to do it 7 days a week, and risk "burnout".
I'm sure you understand, and I appreciate what you say regarding the "lifeline".
Re The WFI's, yes I have seen posts from recently transferred members who are being asked to attend these.
If you don't feel that you are up to this, you can ask your G.P. to provide support, and make the Jobcentre plus aware.
I believe you can also request that WFI's are done over the phone.
There are also instances where members who are appealing WRAG to Support, are being told that they do not have to attend WFI's, while appealing, however as of yet we can not find any regs, to confirm this.
Otherwise I'm afraid that people who are in WRAG must comply with the WFI requests, or they may face being mandated.
Hope this answers your questions.
cheers

Comments and suggestions about the site are always welcome but they should me emailed to Steve rather than posted on the forum.
The subscription that members pay are for the guides and resources. The forum is provided as a courtesy and is not part of the subscription. As the forum is run by volunteers it's functioning will always be subject to the availability of volunteer moderators.
