My husband is attending an ESA medical on Wednesday and I'm using this site a lot, to do our homework, etc. What I'm hoping is that someone has access to the LIMA software they use in the medicals.

I'm grateful that you've listed some of the software questions on this site, but has anyone got access to the full list of questions please.

Many thanks,
B3th

LiMA is used to allow the assessor to input information into the computer and it will make suggestions as to where you should score points, but the questions are usually chosen by the Atos assessor. So there is no fixed set of questions but the guides will give you a fair idea of what may be asked.

Many thanks for replying so quickly. I certainly will look at the technical guide, thank you again bro58.

I'm probably getting too wound up about the medical, my husband is genuinely ill and his Doctor has said he should not be worrying. But how can you show in a 40 minute medical, how ill he is and how his illnesses affect every aspect of his day to day living.

Thank you again for all our help and understanding.

They ask you lots of questions about your 'typical day' which is a completely bonkers way to assess disability. Especially as the end result is to assign a rating on each of the ESA descriptor-groups.

My advice is to be clear what information YOU want to get across. Which descriptors do you believe apply? How will you make sure that the nurse/doctor grasps that they apply? Think of specific everyday examples of how your medical condition limits your activities and make sure they get worked into your answers.

Have a list of these examples written down and give them to the person who accompanies you. Get this person to remind you if necessary, i.e. if you miss an opportunity.

If you reach the end of the interview and ATOS person hasn't covered any area where you expect to score points, then make sure you say what it is and get them to make a note. Take all the time you need to make your case thoroughly.

Good luck!
