Hi Sandra,

It has been taking on average 2 to 4 weeks, after sending in your ESA50, however more recently some members have found it is taking longer.

You may not be required to attend a medical assessment, and may be put straight into WRAG or Support, however they can not class you as fit for work without a face to face assessment.

It may take longer if they are contacting your G.P. or other HCP for extra evidence.

So again no definitive answer her, once your sure they have received your ESA50 by deadline, "the ball is in there court" and the initiative is with them.

cheers

Hi Sandra

What I do when I am nearing the deadline for posting is to use the special delivery postage service. This guarantees next day delivery and although it costs just over £5, to me it is worth the investment to ensure a late delivery does not penalise my claim.

I also consider it to be a good investment as it gives me valuable time to read through the form and add anything to it, rather than panicking and sending it off. I'd worry more if I thought of something afterwards and for the sake of a day or so, missed adding it in.

Good luck
