Hi,

If the form is the ESA50 form, it normally says on the accompanying letter the date it must be returned by (normally circa 6 weeks). The letter is sent out and returned to Medical Services (aka ATOS) who carry out the medicals not the DWP. This fact has no real bearing on whether you will be called for a medical or not - it is your condition, what you put on the form and any supporting evidence which helps determine whether or not you are called for a medical.

You can send in extra documents (keep copies and name and national insurance no on anything you send).

There is help in completing the form in the members area.

good luck

Pete

Hi Jamie

If you have the help of a CAB personally I would ask them to complete it on your behalf, with you giving them the answers. I would say do this if the CAB are willing and you feel confident with them. You might however prefer to complete it yourself and make a better job of it if you dont trust the CAB due to time limits, getting appointments, the adviser etc.

Hi Jamie

I see where you're coming from.

You can fill it in your self if you feel up to it and are satisfied with what you have written.

Alternatively, if you ask the CAB to do it for you it is crucial that you comprehensively explain how your disability affects you and check that the CAB advisor has fully detailed this before the form is sent.

I would not recommend simply turning up to the CAB and telling the advisor about your health as you would be bound to forget a few important points. It would be best, if you do use the CAB, to go through the guides and write notes for each descriptor that you feel you should score points for. You can then give this to the CAB to make sure that nothing is left out.

Good luck

Derek
