ESA85 and ESA65 was created by mumsgirl
Can someone help please? Can you tell me what the difference is between ESA65 and ESA85. Last Oct I got an medical and I asked for all documents relating to me. I received 2, but they are BOTH called ESA85. One is entitled 'Decision Maker's Scoresheet' and the other is entitled 'Medical Report Form', but they are both ESA85. Should I have received an ESA65, or do you only get one or the other? If I should have got ESA65 is it too late to ask for it now and what's actually on it anyway? thanks in advance

Hi MG,

The ESA85, is the report that the ATOS HCP generates from your face to face assessment.

The ESA65 is the Written Statement of Reasons, which is generated by the decision maker, as to your award of ESA.

This should also include your points scoring for relevant descriptors.

As from June this year, the ATOS HCP also has to type up an ESA85S Pesonalised Summary Statement (PSS) as an Add-On to your ESA85, how ever this would not have been the case as you were assessed in October 2010.

Have a look at this thread also :

Hi mumsgirl

I have a decision maker's scoresheet for IB but I was unaware they have them for ESA.

However, an ESA65 is effectively the decision maker's scoresheet; it contains very little information other than what you have scored. I doubt there would be anything to gain by asking for an ESA65 but the only way to find out if there are any documents that you haven't seen is to request from the DWP or make a subject access request for all of the documentation relating to the decision. The DWP do have documents concerning a claim that they do not automatically send to claimants including the ESA85.

Regards

Derek

Thanks bro58,
Is it too late to ask for ESA65 or is it pointless? I presume that the points on the ESA65 will be the same as ESA85 Decisons Makers Scoresheet (but not necessarily so), and would there actually be anything extra on it that I didn't learn from ESA85? thanks

Have a lovely holiday weekend. We don't get that holiday here in Scotland, but the banks shut! Schools, offices etc are open as normal. But we get 'September Weekend'!

Hi MG,

I think Derek has answered your question re any benefits in requesting your ESA65, however you could request it if you wish.

Have a good weekend yourself too, I won't be venturing much further than "Costa Back Garden" weather permitting.

cheers
