You don't have to send in any supporting evidence and indeed if you do, it may not carry as much weight as you might like in relation to the Atos report. On the other hand, if you do want to send in supporting evidence, consider evidence from professionals other than your doctor and consider whether there is any correspondance between specialists and your doctor that would help. If so, you could ask for copies under the Data Protection Act. Your doctor may make a charge for this.

Hi Gazzmg
If it's any comfort to you, I managed to claim ESA without any supporting medical evidence.
It's not absolutely crucial to provide evidence from your GP, but if you can it may be worth obtaining your medical records as Survivor suggested.
Good luck
Derek

Hi gazz,
In addition to the good advice already given, if you do see a consultant of any kind re : your conditions, you can request that any letters sent to your G.P. by your consultant, after say an outpatient visit, are copied in to you.
This is free of charge, and may help in the future, whereas you won't have to request them from your G.P., with any incurred charge.
I have been doing this for some years.
If you have any problems, contact PALS, in the hospital that you attend.
cheers
