going away?

allowed to go abroad for a short holiday? Or would this affect your 'sickness status' ?
Would the DWP assume that if you can manage to go abroad for a week that you are not sick or entitled to ESA? and would they be likely to haul you in?
I don't suppose the DWP would appreciate the fact that although sick you would be able to make suitable travel arrangements and that you won't be going out dancing whilst abroad !
cheers for any help.
P.S I am still waiting to see which ESA group I am in after being migrated without a medical.

Hi all , I have a question. Is a person that is claiming ESA
allowed to go abroad for a short holiday? Or would this affect your 'sickness status' ?

Hi Mr x,
Have a look at the thread on the link below.
Flying and going on holiday were discussed at length, so much so that the thread was locked in the end.

You are entitled to go abroad for a short holiday whilst claiming ESA but you have to inform the DWP.
I would not expect the information to have any bearing on when you are next assessed and I'm not sure whether or not that information would automatically be passed to Atos. But unfortunately going on holiday can have a negative impact on an ESA assessment. See the thread below.
lost 9 points because i went on holiday!!!!!!!!!!!

As to holidays, well I imagine It would depend on what you put on your form as what effects you. If for example you say you can't travel far with the illness that you have, and yet go abroad then maybe it may not reflect well when it comes to your next assessment.
But thats just me guessing and I'm no expert. I'm sure others will come and give you far clearer advice.
