Putting on my 'paranoid' hat, it seems to me saying saying anything resembling "I don't want to go back to work" lays you open to all sorts of problems. Is it your mental attitude that's stopping you? Etc.

Of course you would LOVE to go back to work. What's wrong with saying that? It is your desire or wish. It has nothing to do with whether you are fit to work, which is ultimately the issue!

I also like the version "I would love to be well enough to work again". Short and to the point. Why not leave it at that?

Andy.

I still think the word "love" in the context of being able to go back to work, is an overemphasis to the point that its sounds overtly melodramatic.

I have decided if I was asked that I would say That isn't relevant to me as I know I cannot work because of my disabilities and illnesses. Don't think there is anything in that they could turn round and use against me.

Quite, at which point it would seem an appropriate time to lock the thread to prevent any further repetition.

After all, the use of the appropriate word is very much dependent on an individual's personal opinion, as can clearly be seen from this thread.
