The IB linking rules were rescinded at the beginning of the year, so if you cancelled your IB to return to work, your only choice would be to make a new claim for ESA.what happens if one signs off ib and then find the job doesnt work out (cant physically do it). Also dont really want to disclose ill health to potential employer as possibly not get the job. I have a fluctuating health condition which effects me both physically and mentally. Is it still possible to continue on same ib claim or is it a new claim?
many thanks

It is unfair that you now have to make a fresh claim, starting all over again with assessment rates. People will now be reluctant to make that step, which is counter-productive if the government is trying to encourage people into work.
Can a mod confirm that there are no linking rules with ESA.
Thanks

There have never been any linking rules between an IB claim and an ESA one.The old linking rules with IB provided a safety net for people having a go at a job despite their disabilities.
