How long before ESA & DLA expire will I get forms? was created by Snowbird
1. My wife was put in support group of ESA March 2012. The paperwork said "a return to work is unlikely for at least two years". Could someone please tell me when the renewal forms are likely to be sent out? Will it be several weeks or even months before the two year period is up?
2. My son's DLA will be up for renewal next year. Could someone please tell me how early the new forms will be sent out? In the past, the renewal forms were sent 5 months before the existing claim ran out, but I think I remember reading somewhere that they send them a bit nearer the time now?
3. Does anyone know how often the downloadable DLA application forms are changed? I have downloaded DLA1A Child January 2013. If I begin filling in the current interactive PDF for my son is it likely to change to a new form in the next two or three months? Hoping to make a start on the renewal form soon as they don't give you long enough when they send them out.

To answer your questions.
1. I would expect the forms to be issued about 2 months in advance of the "two years", but you should be aware that the DWP can initiate a re-assessment at any time.
2. If your son will still be under 16 at this re-assessment then you should expect a new set of DLA forms about 4 months in advance of the renewal, if he is 16 then he will receive a PIP claim form about 5 months in advance.
3. I doubt that the claim forms will now change due to the introduction of PIP.
