No renewal forms for PIP? was created by teabag
Hi had to let you know I won my PIP appeal today with B & W information in the members area mobility went from 4pts prompting to 10pts for 1.d. the panel (consisting of 3 men which threw me and the doctor was the same one at my appeal for DLA in February this year, he asked if I was okay with that) saying that the reasons for giving me standard mobility was because of evidence in particular from my GP who has known me for some 20 years and supports me and my consistent evidence. Also because I had ME, Agoraphobia and other disabling conditions.(Assume these were my worn disc and arthritis in my knee and IBS)

At the beginning I pointed out that altho the pages at the beginning of the bundle stated that I was appealing the Daily Living and the mobility I pointed out that I only wanted to appeal the mobility as per the SSCS1 form sent to the tribunal service as i was happy with the standard Care but not with the 4pts for prompting. The panel agreed after checking the SSCS1 form that they would only look at the mobility.

There was a lady there from the DWP who was pleasant and answered some of my questions on the area where I lived to do with distance as I had trouble answering them, so she must live locally I suspect and never said anything else and was asked at the end if she had anything to say or ask she said no as she hadn't been given some papers. So we left the room for the decision to be made went back in after about 20 to find the decision notices printed off and sitting in front of the DWP lady as well as myself and we were told the decision.

After we left the tribunal room the DWP lady came up to me and was very nice telling me that when my PIP is near to renewal in 2016 that if I haven't received a reminder about it running out then I would need to phone up otherwise I could be left without my PIP money as they don't send the forms out when its due for renewal as PIP has to be applied for over the phone to get the form and is not renewed like the DLA is.
Have you heard about this when PIP is up for renewal?

Many thanks again to you all at benefits and work couldn't have gone through with appeal without your help and information

Hi tb,

Well done on winning your PIP appeal !!!! :cheer:

That is really good news !!!

Yes, we are aware that as PIP is a new "Benefit" and there have not been many appeals, that The DWP are sending Presenting Officers to the Tribunal Hearings.

You should receive notification of when your PIP is up for renewal, giving you plenty of notice.

You could send a copy of the Decision Notice to The DWP PIP office dealing with your PIP payments.

This may speed up the payment of the arrears owed to you from the date of the original adverse decision.

It can take up to 6-8 weeks for a Tribunal decision to be actioned upon.

Thanks for your comments regarding B&W !! :)

just saw the bit about automatic entitlement to a blue badge on standard PIP mobility when I phoned Council a few months ago they said I had to have Enhanced mobility so think i'll phone them again and try had mine taken off me about 7 years ago because my GP told the Council it wasn't her job to test and measure my walking distance.

Hi tb,

"intelligence" -- DWP ?? Nah !!!!!

Keep the original, only send a copy, I would highlight the decision in very vivid pink !!(only joking)

Yes, no harm in making the decision easy to see.

Include a brief covering letter of explanation.

Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS
