IB to ESA?? was created by rich47
Hi,
Firstly a big thank you to everyone involved on this site. Having been a member for several years now I have found the information available to be invaluable.
I sent in my ESA50 form on March18th, and earlier this month received a letter from the DWP saying I was being placed straight into contribution based support group from IB where my income was increased from £99-15 up to £106-50. This is made up of; Living expenses £71-70 and £34-80 extra money because I am in the support group. There was no time limit placed on the award, so I am wondering if I will get re-assessed in the future. It also said on the award "You have been placed in the support group because your illness or disability restricts the possibility of working" I will be 60 in June and had been on incapacity benefit since August 2003 when I had to stop work.

Congratulations on the award.

I am afraid that everybody receiving ESA should expect to be re-assessed on a regular basis. You can find out when this is likely to be by requesting your ESA85A medical report, the prognosis is usually used to set the re-assessment date.
