How moving in with partner affects ESA payments?

I currently get ESA (support group) and PIP (standard care). I'm contemplating moving in with my partner. She is currently on a low income (self-employed, tax credits, Housing Benefit) and has two children (under 14). I'm trying to work out how my ESA and PIP would be affected to see if it is affordable..

My understanding is that my PIP award would be unaffected. Regarding ESA, she would get Carer's Allowance and I would lose my severe disability premium (not a problem, no net loss). Regarding the main ESA award, though, I can't work out how much my ESA would be reduced by, and how that would scale with her income, or our combined income. Also, if my income from PIP and/or ESA and hers from Carer's Allowance, would count against her (in the calculation of her Housing Benefit, say). Any information or pointers to information would be great..

Many thanks,

Matt

We can't give detailed financial advice on the forum, at the very least put your joint details into one on the online benefit calculators.

But I would strongly recommend that you get face to face advice before you make any Decisions, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
