Dear Mike,
A nice lady from AGE UK came to my home to fill in the PIP2 form. There was a waiting list for the appointment but she phoned DWP to get the 2 week extension you are entitled to . She was quite good but I would also go through the B&W guides a bit at a time as they are by far the best advice available. Citizen's Advice volunteers are well meaning but you need the trained case workers.
Also start collecting medical advice from GP & Consultants /Medical notes: this is essential, the assessors are very unlikely to contact them.
Best wishes

Thank you Terrified ( sounds like you've been in the same boat)
And sorry for the late reply
I have tried to read through guides on here, and a friend put a link (?) Up to the Citizens Advice, help filling in the pip 2 form ,and there lies the rub it just makes my head spin trying express the answers onto the form .
Whereas taking the question and answer on this site I score well enough but even that was a task in it self
As for the quiz I was completely lost .
But thanks for suggestion with age UK will try find a contact to actually speak to someone.
Have made a note on my to do list for Monday ,so can't forget
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
I have just finished filling in my first draft of a PIP2 Form.
I joined this site on recommendation and got the 90 page guide for filling out the application form.
I have Asperger's and ADHD, so filling in forms is a nightmare for me.
Also, I cannot write due to a neck injury resulting in nerve damage to the hands and use a speech to text programme on a computer that types as I dictate it.
I can honestly say that I would not have been able to progress a PIP application without this guide.
If you go through it page by page, you'll end up with a most comprehensive, robust and solid claim.
Also, do all your answers on separate paper first and only complete the form, when you are truly happy with your answers.
Good luck

Dear Mike,
The 90 page guide is the B&W guide under PIP resources on this site. You have to log in first before you can see them. I think your friend has already downloaded them for you. Gordon is a fount of all knowledge.

Easy to say but try not to panic: you've got 4-5 weeks to do this. Hopefully AGE UK will lift most of the burden & explain what the descriptors mean! It is gobbledegook! I found it helpful to leave things for 4-5 days to allow me to calm down from the shock & terror of it all. Then read the guide one section at a time if you can. Try not to leave things to a last minute panic! I struggled to get GP letter typed up in time which caused a tizzy!

Have a look at PIP GP Notes under' PIP resources'. If you can get an appointment with your GP to discuss this, it would be helpful. If possible the medical evidence needs to be specific to the descriptors. You may need to pay the GP to provide this level of detail.

Also look at PIP Diaries also under 'PIP resources'. There is a mobility example.
If you can fill a diary in it might give evidence of how much of the time you are affected (needs to be at least 50%). A carer or partner can also give information.
People are so used to coping with their disability they understate the difficulties or expect the assessor to understand the condition, you need to spell it out. It is hard to get the enhanced PIP mobility award, don't assume they want to help you. Sadly they are not always truthful & try to catch you out.

Make sure you have photocopies of everything, record any contact with DWP or assessors, SEND form back TRACKED & SIGNED FOR. Attach extra sheets with hole punched & treasury tags headed with name &NI number.

Hope this helps. Best wishes
