I think one of the hardest parts of this process is to remain positive and not let the whole thing get to you. I was struggling with one part of my claim, so I aired it in here. It was suggested I get clarity from one particular party, which I have just done now I feel as though a huge weight is off my shoulders and I can keep going.
The message is, if your condition truly matches the qualifying criteria, just keep on pushing and eventually you'll get what you're entitled to.

Thanks for the positive replies .
Have so far from my copies of Dr / Consultants letters +21 for the bundle to be sent back.
requested and paid for all hospital records so far a simple one ,there.
History from the Drs is another matter after getting past the Rottweiler ,made same request and awaiting a call back ,hopefully sometime soon..What makes matters worse there is that my Dr has been sick since last year and any visit is with a locum (Access Health) at times I think Students .
Stressful yes ,but hey ho I`m at the bottom of the sand dune and climbing IWLTBGMD

Dear Mike,
Fingers crossed for the AGE UK contact: lifted it all off me. You've also got the DIAL option in reserve?
Sounds like you're doing well, have faith! I can't even get past the rottweilers at my GP.
Best wishes

Late Morning all
Update ,brushing my teeth and one of my crowns, tooth decided to snap off at the post so got an appt to see dentist
It doesnt rain put it pours ,do they do a smiley emoji with gapped tooth
Anyway back to pip
Age UK called back and they cant help as they have`nt the resouses loacally (Plymouth) !
Gave me a couple of numbers to try :Focus advice center and CAB .
Thoughts anybody please?
Drs surgery called back and medical notes hopefully within the week ,after I explained to the person that actually does the job so a possible plus there.
Have been making notes by recording them onto my phone ,which I will then use as a guide as form gets filled in trying to be as thorough as i can be as I can ,for instance, visually see and time what aids I am using and have available, when cooking and why, when getting dressed, medication usageg, help needed ect etc through the questios needed.
Now in a FTF would i be allowed to referr to the recordings as a Policeman would .?
Ive breifly read others accounts re recording a FTF I intend to make this known at the time that I wish to record the sesssion .as I believe is my rights to do so.
I hope Im not being to complex here and thank you for advice so far

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Mike
Try doing and internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county, you can also try contacting any charities that specialise in your conditions, lastly check your Local Authorities website.
If you want to record your assessment then you will need permission from the Assessment Provider, you don't have a right to require this. You will need to provide the equipment which needs to be capable of making two simultaneous recordings direct to tape or CD, you cannot use a digital recorder of any kind.

Dear Mike'
So sorry to hear AGE UK was a no go & I led you up the garden path! I didn't realise how lucky I was to get this help. By now both DIAL & CAB will have got better at filling in the PIP forms for people, you might find it helpful to mention to them you have some cognitive problems & would struggle to fill the form in alone. I believe they prioritise people by need.
I did add 2 extra sheets to the form once Age UK did the main parts. I'd got a better idea by then & was less hysterical. Gordon gave me brilliant advice about specific descriptors.
You need to request on the form about recording the FTF interview.( I believe you can buy 2 relatively inexpensive cassette recorders from Argos as you need 2 tape recordings not digital. You might need external microphones too. But you're getting ahead of yourself: all this info is on this site when you need it).
I do hope you get better luck with CAB or DIAL. At a push just your friend reading the CAB online prompts to you a bit at a time?
Best wishes
