Leter about home visit was created by lester
Things are really taking off since I returned my forms, I have now just received a letter from DWP informing me I will be visited on 25/08/11 by 2 ladies, not doctors, they are coming to discuss my claim to benefits, I have to provide proof of identity, what is this? is it a home visit? starting to really worry now.

Hi Lester

What is the title of the letter?

Does the letter from the DWP really say that two 'ladies' are calling without giving their job titles?

Although you cannot decline to take part in what it appears to be a compliance interview without it affecting your benefit, you can ask that the interview is conducted at a DWP office rather than at your home.

If a claimant refuses the DWP entry to their property, the DWP cannot simply refuse to pay benefit on this basis. Unless there are compelling reasons to conduct a home visit, you are entitled to insist that the interview is conducted on DWP premises if this is what you want?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I have been waiting for an appointment for a face to face, or a decision, what is this for? are they checking up on me? is this instead of a face to face? I just want to know what its for, is it to help decide what group i will be in? Ihave nothing to hide and they are quite welcome in my home, I just need to know why are they doing it.
