Transferring to PIP from DLA payment query?

My DLA runs out in November 2016 but I was contacted by the DWP in April telling me I needed to make a claim for PIP, which I did. So I called them at the end of April, received, filled in and then sent off my forms mid May and I am attending my medical assessment on 23rd June. My question is - If I am awarded PIP, will the PIP payments start from when I initially called them at the end of April or will they start when my DLA runs out in November later this year?

The PIP decision, whatever it is, will come into effect 1 month after it is made. Your DLA will continue until that date.
