PIP paper assessment, how likely.? was created by Lorraine
Asking for a friend. Hes been on dla for some years. Change of circumstance, for better has triggered PIP forms.

He told us he refuses to have a f2f assessment as it terrifies him ( does not have mental health issues, but never had f2f), so how lighlty is it that he would be granted paper assessment?

Thank you

Hi Lorriane,

If the assessor believes s/he has enough information to make a recommendation to DWP without a face2face appointment, s/he will do so. Otherwise a face2face will be booked.

Refusing to attend a face2face is likely to result in the file being returned to DWP and the award denied.

So the best thing your friend can do is make a thorough job of completing the PIP2 form and send as much supporting information as possible. Even then, there are no guarantees I'm afraid.

You might want to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future. This will allow you to return with further questions/comments about your friend's PIP claim without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place - and I hope you will find it useful too :)
