Notice of a compliance telephone interview was created by Sick&Tired
Hi,
I am feeling very sick. I have just received a letter telling me they will be ringing me in January. On the reverse of the letter it tells me about telling them about changes in circs. and they need to make sure my payments are correct.
As far as I am aware I have not done anything wrong - my savings are minimal, I live alone, no pension etc.
The only recent change has been that they reduced my PIP award and I am putting in a MR - could this be the reason for the call?
They tell me to have bank statements etc available if I have them.
I am really worried now.
I am just wondering, how common is this? And what might be the reason for the call? should I phone them to ask what it is about? or wait and see?

There are lots of reasons they could be calling you in from literally just making sure that you are getting the right amount of money to being reported to the fraud line by somebody.
I note from a previous post that you lost your Daily Living award, if you were receiving Premiums for the award as part of your ESA and yo haven't told them of the PIP Decision then this could be a reason.
You can contact the JC+ advisor, their name and number should be on the letter, for more information.

Hi All,
I just wanted to update for information purposes what happened at my interview. It was extremely anxiety-provoking and as I have PTSD made me twice as ill as before.
I got the interview postponed, with help from the C.A.B., for a month due to being too unwell to be able to gather the statements etc. all in time. It turned out I didn't need all the documents in the end anyway.
The reason for the interview was that I had been in the support group, getting income related top-ups, and had been doing a tiny amount of permitted work - with their full knowledge and agreement - when able to, amounting to an hour a week or less, earning less than £20 per week.
It turns out that as I did this on a self employed basis and submitted a tax return, HMRC had informed DWP but given the figure of my PW income (around £600) as being combined with the taxable contributions based ESA, which made it look like I had PW earnings over the £6000 threshold.
Once I had given them the correct figures and it became clear the original sum was wrong, that was the end of the issue. Stress over!
Just wanted to share that. All the best to anyone going through this stressful interview process. I just wish they could be a bit more client-friendly and make it a bit clearer when they write to you.

Glad to hear it was (relatively) easy to clear it up.

I have CYCLOTHYMIA, BIPOLA,, I've also been diagnosed as a Paranoid Sociopathic schizophrenic ? with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Personality Disorders, Narcissism, Persistent Mood Disorders,, and Arbiterily Violent, so mutch so after 3 police incidents FTAC interviewed me with intention to Section me and send me to Broard Moor. Fortunately my GP had prescribed the wrong medication, so I was Reprieved.
Any way to the Point, after receiving an Ongoing Award for Both Enhanced Rates of PIP I Claimed CONTRIBUTION BASED ESA, life has been sweet since 2015, then on 18th Nov 2022 I recieve a Notice of Complience telephone interview letter, regarding my CONTRIBUTION BASED ESA? I don't advise others to be like me, but because of my Mental Health condition I'm not Backward in Coming forward? And I speak Very clearly and Abruptly in a way others don't appreciate when I'm Angry and Stressed out with Anziety.
So imediately I phoned them and Explained that Under Contribution Based ESA, my Finances are Not Required or Assesed, and they would not be receiving Bank Statements and Statements about the Discresionary Gift Payments my Father made to me from his Trut Fund.
Infact I clarified to them that CB ESA is not Financialy assessed, and they had no right interfere with my claim as I am entitled to Recieve, M9ney, charity, Donations, trust Fund Payments and I can be a Trustee, I can also inherit a property and it has no affect on my entitlement to CB ESA. More over because I haven't done anything wrong, even by not declaring the Trust payments, I explained "I only have to inform you of any changes that affect my entitlement to CB ESA", clearly as the Trust payments are allowed I don't have to notify you, as I'm intitled to recieve the Payments. So if you want to suspend my CB ESA and try to fine Me for not telling you I've done nothing wrong, then go ahead and I'll se you in court.
My fathers Solicitor and Accountants refused to release paperwork about the Trust Fund Saying no Offence or Fraud had been Committed, and my fathers Trust is Private and Confidential Financial information, they are not intitled to see. Unless I am firstly charged with Fraud.
I politely wrote all my entitlements down in a letter , signed it and Wrote Merry Christmas at the End of the letter. I sent it special delivery on Monday 21st, for the Telephone interview on Tuesday the 29th. I also pointed out that I assume it was an anonymous Fraud Hotline Tip off from my Ex Wife again.
I'm sure this unescesary Fraud Hotline Tip off will be resolved very Quickly, even if you Recieve Income Based ESA you also have privliges but you must notify them for INCOME BASED BENEFITS.
Thease Fraudline Tip offs are caursing nightmares as DWP goes into Proceedural Pshyco mode. Good luck to you all.
