Owed 1000s in premiums... was created by Pip
I’m sure I became eligible for severe disability premium and enhanced disability premium in 2011.
i did not know this so my mum went onto carers alowance in 2015-2017
i started claiming SDP and EDP in 2017 and they back dated it a bit but not all the way from 2011-2015.
i was happy at the time but I’m not happy about it now
Can I claim 2011-14 which they didn’t pay me?

Hi Pip
I'm sorry, but your question is outside the scope of the forum and this is something that you will have to discuss with the DWP

First, are you sure that you met the criteria for the Severe Disability Premium between 2011 and 2015?
You need to have had a DLA Medium or Higher rate Care award or a PIP Daily Living award (there are others), throughout the period in question.
You need to have been living alone or considered to be living alone and no one must have been receiving Carers Allowance against the DLA or PIP award.
Lastly, you need to have been receiving or entitled to receive an Income Related benefit such as ESA(IR) to allow payment of the Premium.
From your post, the last Decision on this matter was in 2017 so you are out of time to make an appeal against it.
You have two options;
- You can ask for an Anytime Revision of the Decision but this requires the DWP to accept that there is an error in the Decision.
- You can request a Judicial Review of the Decision, however, there will be upfront costs and possibly significant costs if the Review is accepted.
In either case, there is nothing we can do on the forum to help you progress this matter you need the assistance of a salaried Welfare Rights worker as a critical factor will be having access to the paperwork associated with your claim which we obviously cannot do on the forum.

DWP are saying that i signed the form for edp and sdp saying that I don’t want it backdated before 2015, so they gave me a backdated 2000 instead of 15000 pounds.
Is there anything I can do to get the £13000 I am entitled to?
Please help - and thank you for your time?

Hi Pip,
As per Gordon, I think you need to seek specialist advice from a law centre or advice service. Unfortunately we can't answer you query here as we need to see all the paperwork etc.
