Telephone Appeal was created by wing
I have just received a date for a telephone appeal hearing on 23 November.
Unfortunately, I am stuck abroad and unable to get back to the UK as the borders are closed and all international flights cancelled.
Will it make any difference that I am not in the country and should I inform the Tribunal before the hearing?

Have you notified the DWP that you are not in the country?
Yes, you need to inform the Tribunal Service, the information for your appeal is going to be mailed to the address on record and if you are not there...

No, I didn't because it was only a short visit!
I have all the information from the Tribunal as someone is looking after my post and emailing it to me.
I wondered if they would do the telephone appeal even though I'm not in the country?

I might also add that I applied online to the Tribunal service and they have contacted me with all the relevant information. I got the "bundle" back from the DWP some weeks ago with their response.

If you are unable to return to the UK then you need to notify everybody.

Thanks Gordon.
Do you think they will still go ahead with telephone appeal?
