Thank you ? and Motobility Question was created by Teddington
Hi,
With your great help, my MR request has been successful.
I would like to thank you all so much for all your help.
I think I should have received a back payment to June but I haven't received any back payment. My 4 weekly payments been updated with higher/ new amount.
First time I applied for motability car and collected my car last week.
I am in receipt of high PIP for both daily living and mobility.
I was due to receive my 4 weekly PIP today but I just checked my bank account and noticed that no PIP have been paid to me. I understand, my 4 weekly mobility allowance will be transferred to my mobility scheme.
I thought my daily living allowance of 4 weeks was going to go into my bank today. I cannot ring them until Monday which is really stressing me.
Is this a often thing to happen for first time motability scheme users? Is it some kind of payment adjustments etc?
I hope I make sense.
Many thanks.

Hi Teddington

Absolutely delighted to hear that you have been awarded your enhanced PIP award.

I believe it could be an error, if it is not in your bank by Monday contact PIP to see why no payment has been made.

I cannot say it is a often thing to happen to first time mobility scheme users, it is quite rare but it does happen from time to time.

Thank you very much Gary.

Without your help, I couldn't have done it. You helped me so much and answered my questions very clearly while I was writing my MR. It took about 10 weeks but I am so happy it's been successful.
Should have I received any back pay from the date when my original review been decreased in June?
I am not sure if there is any back pay. If there isn't, I am happy either way.

Thank you very much again

Hi Teddington,
Well done on your award. As Gary says check on Monday if no payments have been received. If you had a renewed or repeat claim, it is likely that your new award will run from the date of the renewal, or perhaps longer if you told DWP your condition had become worse on a previous date. You should get backdated money from this date, which will be on tbe award notice. You can also use the award notice to calculate the back pay. If you receive ESA or other means tested benefits ( not UC), you may be entitled to additional money called premiums based your PIP result. You may get these already, or perhaps are not entitled, but it's worthwhile asking DWP at ESA and the local authority if you do get means benefits from them. If there is an additional premium to be paid, this will also get backdated to the renewal date.
I hope thishelps.
