Review Form - Future Hospital Stays? was created by MikeFromLFE
I'm starting to complete my wife's 1043 PIP review form.
In the section "...also tell us about any future hospital stays you already know about" section do I need to tell them that she has been on the waiting list for orthopaedic surgery (very relevant to her disabilities, but will only result in partial alleviation of her issues) and that her surgery has been repeatedly delayed (due to Covid) and the latest suggestion is that it will be mid 2022.
So, she knows that she will have a hospital stay, but we have absolutely no idea when!
Should I just say "on the waiting list for surgery - no date confirmed"? Or, as we do not 'know about' the stay in even outline detail, should I leave this out?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hello Mike From LFE,
Yes, tell them. Anything which evidence's the extent of a problem a claimant has is good stuff. Don't think of the PIP forms as exams where you can be penalised for giving a wrong answer but as an opportunity to explain the impact problems have on your wife's life. Anything is good! I would also say that the planned surgery will only result in partial alleviation of issues, otherwise you might find that the assessor predicts a rapid and complete cure!
This morning I was completing a 1043 form and in that section I have written that although the consultant has recommended further surgery this will not be happening because the anaesthetists has said that it is not safe. I wanted to make sure that the assessor knew that the fact that there were no admissions planned was not because there was not a need.
I hope that helps, and I wish you success in getting the right award.
