Heard back from PIP. Uncertain of what to do next

So I heard back about my review form and thankfully they decided to give me the same level of award, (enhanced daily living, standard mobility) for 2 and a half years, however I haven't told them about the fact that I'm in university.

At the time of filling the form I was told by a benefits advisor to wait until I got back the verdict of my PIP review form before telling them.

Now that I've received the outcome I spoke to them again today about it. They told me that as long as what I wrote in the form isn't in conflict with what I wrote in the form I don't have to tell them, but it's up to me.

I'm only in university for 9 hours per week over 3 days, even though it's a full time course. I'm in on a Monday and Tuesday for 3 hours each, then come in again on a Friday for another 3 hours. I don't leave the house outside of that and buy everything online.

I don't believe that my attendance at university is in conflict with what I wrote. Even though I'm only scheduled to go in for 9 hours I have been late a lot and missed quite a few classes. I wrote that I only leave the house when necessary and even then I struggle with that which is evident.

There are also other factors that also support this but they're personal.

I also don't know what points I scored for what which will also affect what I say if I do say anything. Any advice helpful.

Hi Mystery1997,
There is no duty to tell DWP that you are at University. What you were told previously us absolutely correct- as long as you stated your disabilities and limitations correctly within the forms then there is no problem. You can request a copy of the assessment report PA4, which may help show why points were awarded. You should have received a decision letter which should also show the points. You may want to phone DWP and ask for these documents if not yet received.
I suspect that you gave a support network at Uni or special arrangements made to help you study, if so again this would not obviously conflict with your PIP form either.
Presumably your Uni knows you are disabled? You may want to contact the student office as there may be grants or equipment etc available to you as a disabled student.
I hope this helps.

Hi Mystery; to continue from LL26. Your university will have a Disability/ Wellbeing service. You will need to apply for DSA (Disabled Student Allowance) which will cover the cost of a Study Mentor/ Additional learning support/ Photocopying/ printing/ taxi fares to & from Uni/ special measures for late hand ins of coursework/ special measures in exams/ extra help in the library/ IT software/ help with computer costs. Speak to your Students Union too, to check your entitlements. You are allocated resources depending on your needs. Lesson capture/ notes takers/ personal assistants and lots of other stuff is out there if you need it x
