The DLA has now automatically been changed to PIP but the condition has got worse would I loose the PIP I have if I asked for my claim to be reassessed I am in the support group for EESA

Hello Jenny,

As you may be aware, PIP and DLA are assessed very differently. Some people do better on DLA and some on PIP. Additionally there is no direct link between EESA and PIP.

I would suggest that you have a look at our PIP guide
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants

and that gives you the scoring for each activity. Go through it, scoring yourself pretty harshly, and that will give you an idea of what you might get if you were to apply for a reassessment.

It would be negligent of me not to point out that when you request a review there is the potential for losing out, and having to fight for what you are getting now, and you need to go into the process prepared for that.

If you are able to see a local benefits adviser they might be able to give you more personal advice, based your particular situation.
