Sorry to jump in on this but there is no extension available for returning the ESA50, even if one is offered by the telephone support staff.
There are circumstances where the DWP will allow it to be returned late but I would not advise doing so.
If necessary, it is better to return a partially completed form with a covering letter explaining that more information will be provided as soon as possible.

Hi W2FK,
Please mention on your ESA form that you already have PIP. Again, most of what you say here can be included on your form. Catherine is very right, whilst I appreciate you may struggle, you do explain yourself well.
Remember that although you stumble this is only a wobble away from a full fall. So you might want to explain that you constantly stumble, but use the furniture to hold on, but still fall onto it, and say you seldom go out due to anxiety and because you fear falling over.
Also explain that you are currently having tests for autism etc. It is problems with doing the activities that is important not the actual diagnosis, as you rightly state.
If you have no examples don't worry, but just use examples wherever you can.
Good luck.

Thank you LL26! I appreciate that.
I had a home visit from the GP and she is referring me to a psychiatrist however, she's not referring me for autism BUT she has said she will mention this in her referral. So I'll mention something about it in the form.
I was actually so relieved when I saw the GP came, I was expecting another GP to not listen or take my trauma and mental health seriously, but it was quite the opposite! She's new to the medical centre so I think I'll be speaking to her from now on about any health problems. She understood how anxious I was, I was literally stuttering and got a bit upset during the appointment but she was lovely.
I do lack confidence in myself, but I will do as you've suggested, Welfare Rights have offered to help but I'm a bit weary after the PIP fiasco.
Thanks again, this forum is another place that surprised me in a nice way, I had tried a certain disability forum but the people were a bit abrupt and rude to each other on there so I ended up asking them to delete my account.
I'm really glad that I joined

What lovely kind words about us WF2K. Thank you.
I don’t know if you have noticed Gordon’s post a little below. He is quite right, and I was mistaken in suggesting that you asked for an extension - I had my PIP hat on rather than my ESA 50 one. Sorry about.
But I do stand by what I said about taking the time you need, and I still believe you can do it. If you need to send in a less well completed form on time, but do feel free to include a note that you have not been able to fully explain your conditions and you will be submitting further information within two weeks.
Wishing you success in your endeavour,
Catherine

I missed Gordon's post, thanks Catherine.
Yeah, I recall reading somewhere that they tend not to give extensions for ESA forms, thanks Gordon.
My son is going to give me a hand with it, we are going to do it a bit at a time so I don't get frustrated/overwhelmed.
I'm still kind of shocked at how helpful the GP has been, I'm not used to that, I'm used to being fobbed off a lot which is partly why I don't have any up to date medical evidence, it seems that if you try treatment and it doesn't work, the GP's give up, at least mine have.

I love it when everything starts to come together:)
If it is easier your son can complete the form for you in the third person, I.e. my father struggles to…, and then he just needs to put in the relevant box why he has helped you. It all supports your claim!
Wishing you and master WF2K success,
Catherine
