New mod

Hi I’m Wendy a new moderator on the team
My background was in social housing and homelessness working with councils and HAs
I also worked in an advice centre which offered advice and support on benefits, housing, mental health support and much more.
I became unwell with mental health issues in 2010 and the council I worked for gave me a very hard time and tried sacking me.
When they couldn’t they made me redundant so I had to claim benefits and lost our house.
I decided to start a Facebook group offering free housing advice and advocacy which has gone from a small members page to over 11000
I have an excellent team who all still work in social housing in various rolls all over the country.

I’ve taken a step back as I decided to do something I wanted to do for myself and train as a dog groomer which I love.
I also have some more time so I’ve offered to become a mod on here.

Welcome to B&W and thank you for volunteering.

I also work in social housing and my sister is a dog groomer, infact she used to teach it at a college under city and guilds.

I don't use social media, so I am a bit of a dinosaur.
