Not given a month to fill in return PIP 2 form was created by Rambling Ted
Really annoyed ! I received a PIP 2 form dated 18th October and it has to be sent back by the 18th November. I didn't receive it until the 25th October and would have to post it several days before the 18th for them to receive it on time which makes it about 3 weeks.
They sent me and SMS text saying I would receive the form with in 7 to 10 days on 19th October so they must know its not a whole month.
I'm waiting to receive a diagnosis after a scan last week which could affect what I write on the form and they usually take a few weeks to send the result . Would it be ok to send the form back one month from the 25th , a week late.
Gave up trying to get through to DWP ,
Thanks

Hello Rambling Ted,
Unfortunately it is not okay to simply send your form back late, you could well end falling into an administrative black hole where your application is either cancelled or you fail to get any award back dated to when you applied.
You do need to ring the DWP, explain what has happened, and ask for some extra time to fill it in. I have never known them refuse. I know it is a pain to ring them, but unless you start just before they are due o go home they will always answer. Many of our members reckon it is best to try first thing in the morning, I always mentally prepare myself for it taking an hour to get to the front of the queue, so I find something else to do whilst I am listening to their on hold music.
I understand why you want the result of your scan, but other than the important part of recording the result in the list of conditions it does not really make much difference to what you put on the form. The day to day reality of the impact of whatever is wrong with you is what you need to tell them about and that is not dependent upon a diagnosis.
I wish you success and a good outcome to the scan

I had a letter from DWP saying they're not had my form yet ( it was due back on 18th November ) and they are giving me two extra weeks . Its a good idea that they do this as there must be many people who need more time.

Hi Rambling Ted
You received a standard letter that all claimants receive if the form has not been returned by a certain date. Glad you got it.
