Capital disregard was created by Johnniepk
My aunt has sold her house. She now has control of the proceeds.
What is the process for notifying. Dwp? Phone call, letter, form?
She intends to purchase a suitable property nearer us and would like to request capital disregard until we can do so. How do we request this? At the same time as notifying? How much explaining do we do?
We have registered with local estate agencies but do we tell dwp this?

Hi Johnniepk

I'm afraid your question is outside the scope of the forum. You can find a specialist advisor in your area. advicelocal.uk/ - How to find help locally

One piece of advice - any time you tell something to the DWP over the phone - always follow up with a letter confirming what was said and keep a copy for yourself.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
