Benefits affected by receiving State Pension

Hello

Please can you advise me?

I am eligible for the state pension on my
birthday, 17th March 2022, at 66 years of
age having 'missed out' of 6 years payments
because of government changes in the rules.
I receive Contributory ESA and I am in the
Support Group, which has led on from Incapacity
Benefit back in 1998 following a car crash
prohibiting me from being employed.
My benefit is not affected or reduced with my
early occupational pension because of the then rules.
I have tried in vain to contact the relevant people so please can you
help me?

Please can anyone advise me?

Hi danipatch

When you reach state pension age your CB ESA will stop.

Depending on your circumstances, you maybe able to claim PCG; www.gov.uk/pension-credit.

I would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation, who can take all your circumstances into account; You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk
