PIP Renewal was created by BlueMeany
Daughters PIP was due for renewal May/June last year (2021) and I filled out the forms and sent back etc etc (I'm her appointee).
She recently got the notification that her PIP had gone from Standard mobility to Enhanced mobility, from beginning of December 2021.
Firstly, should this also be backdated to when the claim was renewed/made earlier in the year?
Also, on that renewal form in May, I stated that I believed that her mobility issues (that have now got her enhanced rate) began before the last award in 2017 (I believe that she should have got the enhanced rate due to the overwhelming physchological distress issue that was challenged in court back then). We have previously had the letter everyone got saying they had looked at her claim and nothing was changing.
Being as she now has enhanced rate with basically the same information that was used in 2017, is it worth/am I able to challenge that old decision to backdate to then?

Hi BlueMeany

It is not straight forward when looking at backdate payments as a number of factors need to be taken into account, you need to contact your local Welfare Rights Organisation who will be able to give you correct information; You can find your local Welfare Rights Organisation to help you with advice by clicking on the link below and putting in your post code, it will then come up with a MAP with a list of agencies. advicelocal.uk .

In regards to the letter you received you may be able to apply for a MR but again get help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation.
