Turn around time PIP online applications was created by phrank
Hi all,
At present I am remotely helping a good friend with a new PIP claim which is an online application.
I know very little about these and even less about the average waiting time to receive a reply.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Phrank.

Hi Phrank
The best we can quote at the current time is about eight weeks, but you know the system well - in truth we have no idea - some people hear quickly and others don't. Personally, I would start asking the DWP the status of a claim from six weeks onwards.

Hi BIS,
Thanks for your reply. Just as a I thought, really. I just wondered if there had been any new developments having been in 'benefit hibernation' for the festive period and having still not got back up to 'speed' since then.
Regards,
Phrank.

Dear FATU_99. Just one thing. PLEASE tell them you want your assessment recorded.
If this results in more delay initially so be it. Far better have it recorded and get the right outcome, than get a wrong outcome because it was not recorded. That could delay things much more if you have to do MR then appeal, and even so your chances are slimmer without the evidence the recording gives. And with how often it has been said on here that recordings have been "lost," I'd be planning to make my own as backup. Also even if your booking may state you can ask for a recording 'on the day' this is not true in effect. So please call ASAP, note person's name and the time you call.
Best wishes,
Denby
