PIP collecting evidence was created by Asbo
Hello
I think I read maybe in one of the newsletters that the onus on gathering your own medical evidence for PIP was changing. Or maybe it's something that's soon to change or they're considering changing.
As it stands, my form says I have to collect it so I just thought I'd check.
Also, because of Covid I've been outside even less though had some online appointments. My GP wrote a letter three years ago but much of it would still stand. Should I use that or is it better to get a more up to date one from my GP?
Many thanks

Hi Asbo,
If the current form you have says that you should collect the evidence then I think you are right to do just that.
I think you should get an up to date letter from your GP as a 3 year old letter may not be considered as valid. Also if you can collect evidence from relations, friends and others who assist you in your daily life then gather these together. Any evidence from professionals who work with you would also be very helpful even if the contact with them has not been face-to-face.
I hope this helps
Regards
Pete

Hi fmoss1
We hear that quite often, if you have someone who gives you support then ask them to write a supporting letter setting out what support they give and why.
