Ramsey Hunt Syndrome was created by johnherrick
Hi
Does anyone have experience of claiming PIP for Ramsey Hunt Syndrome? My partner suffers from this and will be making a claim shortly, any information from forum members who have been successful/unsuccessful and any problems they have experienced during the claim process and assessment would be much appreciated.
Thanks
John

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi John
Hopefully, a member might be able to help you.
One thing to bear in mind when applying for PIP is that the focus is not so much on the particular medical condition, but the impact it has on a claimant's daily living and mobility. So for example it is quite possible for two people with the same condition such as osteoarthritis to apply for PIP and one could be awarded it and the other wouldn't because the impact and severity varied.
So I would suggest the best thing you and your partner could do is go through our PIP guide which covers each question in detail.

Hi johnherrick
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS) is a complication of shingles. I have done a quick check on Google to see what support there is for the condition, you may get some support from Facial Palsy UK; www.facialpalsy.org.uk/causesanddiagnoses/ramsay-hunt-syndrome/
