I know in your excellent guides you suggest consenting to this to prevent any further aggro. The problem is I had huge problems last time although that was for my ESA. But they used it against me. They contacted the receptionists to find out if I'd attended the surgery and they used this as proof I could come in for an assessment which I've never been able to do! Even the GP surgery was stressful enough and it's not the same at all. I know there's been lockdown and restrictions to surgeries for a large part of the last two years but I'd rather tick the 'yes' box but only conditionally. Is there a way you can suggest I word this? I will be sending in a letter from my GP anyway and details of medication so there's no need for them to contact my surgery. Many thanks
I understand your reluctance due to your prior experience, but the reality is that you can't tell them they can only do it under certain conditions. It's too easy for someone to misinterpret that. You could tick yes and add a note saying you do so reluctantly because of your prior experience and if they require further information will they contact your GP and not speak about you to a receptionist who is not qualified to comment on your medical condition.
