I receive PIP at high daily living & medium mobility after a rather torrid transfer from DLA which entailed going to appeal and took nearly 2 years. My award was extended at appeal to October 2022 and then again to July 2023, due to Covid according to the letter. 3 weeks ago I received a text saying I was going to have a a PIP telephone assessment in 2 weeks time. I phone DWP to check what was going on & they were generally unhelpful. They just said it was a genuine text & I should also get a letter & to contact the assessment provider, but couldn't or wouldn't tell me why I was having an assessment when my award isn't due to end soon. I managed to cancel my assessment as I was moving house that week and have since received the letter regarding the assessment - which states that I am having an assessment after proving medical evidence that they have looked at. However I haven't sent them any medical or other evidence, so I'm unsure what they are talking about? Can any one help? I tried ring the DWP again but they were useless.
As your award end date is July 2023, I would have expected you to receive a review form anytime from July 2022. I can't explain why you have received it so early. This is something you will have to try and take up with the DWP. However, be aware you might not get a satisfactory answer as the DWP are free to review a claim whenever they like.
