awaiting PIP decision was created by Anne
Hi guys,
Thanks for reading..
Just after some reassurance I suppose.
Applied for PIP again feb 2021 after a failed tribunal (really bad experience) and had gone on for close to 2 years.
January 2022 had telephone based assessment which lasted 2 and a half hours - although the lady was really nice.
Told up to 6 weeks for the decision. Had a random phone call ofF PIP today. I missed the call, rang them back and they told me that it was most likely to discuss the decision, she told me she didn’t know what the decision was but they’d be able to tell me tomorrow as the decision has been made and their systems update overnight.
I’m really anxious; I know none of you can tell me what they are going to say… but I’m so worried. I’ll find out tomorrow when I ring up, hoping so much it’s a good outcome because it’s been 5-6 years of claims, MR and tribunals and still no further forward.
Main questions are:
Is the fact that the telephone assessment took 2 and a half hours a good or bad sign?
Is the random phone call a good or bad sign?
Thanks again

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Anne
I'm so sorry you're going through this. I wish I could reassure you, but I wouldn't give you false hope. The length of the assessment is no real guide to the outcome. All I can say is that the assessor tried to be thorough - because it is on the long side.
Is a phone call - a good or a bad sign. Again it is impossible for me to say. Generally, they phone because they want to clarify something.
I won't say don't worry because obviously, you're going to, so I hope after tomorrow you'll have a clearer picture of what is happening.

Dear Anne, whatever the outcome when you speak to them, please consider asking for the PA4 assessment report. Even if you get a wonderful award, it is worth having in your file ready for future use. And if you don't, it is a must-have for preparing to do an MR again to argue. I hope it comforts your anxiety a little to know many readers here are wishing you well,
Denby

Hi Anne,
So sorry to read your post. They really know how to keep disabled people guessing and add to their anxieties.
I really hope you get a positive outcome tomorrow.
King regards and good luck!
